STRIPED TAIL SCORPION (Paravaejovis Spinigerus)
This is considered to be the largest scorpion in North America. Giant Desert Hairy Scorpion can range in length up to 6 inches. This is quite disturbing. This scorpion can feed on a variety of prey including lizards and snakes. It is usually yellow with a dark top. It gets it’s name by the long brown hairs that cover its body. Hairs help scorpions detect vibration which help them detect prey and danger. It’s venom is not that potent, however, care for a possibility of allergic reaction should be considered.
